About Us
As an official ACNC Registered Charity, Mending Casts has been providing free respite retreats through licensed Reel Recovery and Casting For Recovery programs since January 2019 to people dealing with cancer. Our unique retreats combine the health and wellbeing benefits of fly-fishing and connecting with nature, with relief from the personal challenges, and an opportunity to share experiences with others in a supportive, non-clinical environment.
As a self-funded, unpaid volunteer-run charity, we rely on donations obtained from fundraisers, supporter donations and sponsorships, plus government grants or corporate partnerships. Every dollar is invested back into our programs and supporting activities.

Regsitered Donation Partner for Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) since January 2024.
The CDS rewards Victorians with a 10-cent refund for every eligible can, carton and bottle they return. You can choose to donate these funds to Mending Casts at CDS recycling centres.
