Mending Casts is an official ACNC Registered Charity that provides free respite retreats to people dealing with cancer. What is unique about our programs is that we use the health and well-being benefits of fly-fishing to reconnect people to nature, provide relief from their personal challenges and share their experiences with others in a non-clinical and supportive environment. This is delivered through the internationally acclaimed women's Casting for Recovery program in Victoria and Reel Recovery programs for men throughout Australia.
We also host several community-based events and fundraisers each year aimed at introducing people of all ages and backgrounds to the sport, be they novices or more experienced anglers. We are self-funded, run solely by volunteers and are a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
